At Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and serving Greensboro and High Point, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture, brain injury, amputation and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

As senior director, she unified rehabilitation services across Novant Health while promoting and operationalizing clinical optimization and growth. She received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in health administration from Central Michigan University. Dr. McLean has served as medical director of rehabilitation medicine for Forsyth Medical Center since 1997, and also serves as a staff physiatrist.
Dr. McLean has served as medical director of rehabilitation medicine for Forsyth Medical Center since 1997, and also serves as a staff physiatrist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and a medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed an internship with University of Kentucky Medical Center in internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, trauma surgery, emergency medicine and pediatrics. Dr. McLean also completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

A former HealthSouth Corp. executive was convicted Friday of conspiracy and lying to auditors for his role in a $2.7 billion fraud at the rehabilitation chain. Hannibal Sonny Crumpler was only the second person to stand trial in the fraud. The first, fired CEO Richard Scrushy, was acquitted in June.
