Hard copies of these documents will be provided for your signature by your Tauck Director.

2022 Waiver of Liability for Covid-19

The safety and comfort of our guests has always been of paramount concern to Tauck. We have worked diligently to give you the peace of mind you expect. However, there is no way to eliminate all possible risks while traveling and Tauck therefore cannot assume liability in the unlikely event you contract Covid-19. This is the reason for the necessity of the following waiver of liability:

Tauck, Inc. ("Tauck") has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19. However, Tauck cannot guarantee that you or your travel party will not become infected with Covid-19. In fact, traveling on a Tauck trip and participating in its activities could increase your risk of contracting Covid-19.

By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of Covid-19and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by Covid-19by participating in the Tauck trip and that such infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming infected by Covid-19on a Tauck trip may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to Tauck employees, suppliers (and their employees) and other passengers. I understand that complete knowledge of the risk factors of contracting Covid-19is not complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in injury, illness, death or any other loss. I agree that having considered these risks, I desire to participate in the tour or cruise and I freely and voluntarily assume complete personal responsibility for the risk of exposure, illness and death due to Covid-19, even if such injuries or death occur in a manner that is not foreseeable at the time this agreement is signed.

I for myself, and on behalf of my and their heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability or expense of any kind that I may experience or incur in connection with my Tauck trip and its activities ("Claims"). I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge and hold harmless Tauck, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims. Including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or related thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Tauck, its employees, agents and representatives, whether a Covid-19infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Tauck trip.

I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER OF LIABILITY, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

I agree that if any portion is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. No additions, deletions or changes can be made to the release form, and signing it is a requirement for joining the trip.

Covid Travel FAQs

Following are answers to some of the most common questions we are hearing related to travel agreements and guidelines, pre-tour testing, and what to expect on a Tauck tour or cruise.

We are hopeful that recent encouraging news on vaccines will eventually impact COVID-19 travel agreements, guidelines and safety protocols; please stay current by visiting tauck.co.uk/travel-updates.

Planning Your Trip

What will the health & safety protocols be on my tour or cruise?

All Tauck guests age 12 and older must be "up to date" with their vaccinations for Covid. If over 270 days have passed since your initial vaccination series, you must have a booster shot. In lieu of a booster shot, proof of recovery is also accepted if within 180 days of travel. Tauck does not require pre-trip testing, masking or social distancing. However, health and safety protocols vary country by country and destination guidelines supersede our requirements. In North America, the national parks and some cities sill have masking mandates in public spaces such as public venues and restaurants. Tauck and our suppliers are committed to following local health guidance. Because the guidelines can change quickly, often without notice, it is not possible for us to always provide detailed protocols for your itinerary in advance. Some destinations and suppliers may require masks and physical distancing, even for vaccinated guests. Note that current measures are likely to be different by the time you travel. Our Covid Travel Requirements page will continue to have the most up-to-date information which will also be reflected in your Personal Travel Documents and communicated by your Tauck Director on tour.

Do guests booking a 2022 tour or cruise still have to sign Tauck's Travel Well Pledge and Waiver of Liability for COVID-19?

Yes, Tauck's Travel Well Pledge and Waiver of Liability for COVID-19 will remain in effect until further notice. Our policies apply to all future bookings until conditions allow us to change them. We can make no exception to these policies.

Requirements For Covid Vaccination

Do all Tauck guests need to be vaccinated for Covid?

All Tauck guests age 12 and older must be up to date with their vaccinations for Covid. If 270 days have passed since your initial vaccination series, you must have a booster shot. No booster shot is required if you can show proof of having recovered from Covid within 180 days of travel. There are no additional exceptions to this requirement, which is in place until further notice. Some destinations have expiration periods that are less than our 270 days, so please check the entry requirements for the destinations you will be visiting here.

What vaccines are accepted by Tauck?

(Video) The Travel Tools I Can't Travel/Plan Without!

The below vaccines accepted by Tauck have been approved orauthorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (in bold) and/or the Wold Health Organization (WHO):

  • Pfizer-BioNTech
  • Moderna
  • Novavax
  • Johnson & Johnson's Janssen
  • AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine
  • Sinopharm
  • Sinovac
  • COVAXIN
  • Covovax
  • CanSino

With the exception of the FDA approved vaccines, not all of the above vaccines are accepted by all countries visited by Tauck, so please ensure that your vaccine is accepted by the countries you will be traveling to if they require proof of being fully vaccinated.

What if I received my booster over 270 days prior to the start of my trip? Is my vaccination still up to date?

Under Tauck's requirement, the booster does not currently expire at 270 days. However, we are aware that there is a validity period for boosters by a few countries on some of our itineraries. The CDC has recently approved a 2nd booster shot for those over age 50 and this dose may be needed to comply with these destination requirements. Please check the entry requirements for the destinations you will be visitinghere.

If I'm fully recovered from Covid and fully vaccinated, what proof of recovery must I have to travel with Tauck?

If fully recovered from Covid, you must obtain a letter from a certified health professional that states you are no longer infectious and are medically cleared for travel. You must keep this letter with you during your travels. Please note that, although this proof of recovery will satisfy Tauck's requirements and those of international airlines, we cannot guarantee that it will meet with local requirements. It is therefore possible that you may be denied entry to certain venues that are not part of your Tauck itinerary, such as museums and restaurants.

What are the vaccination and booster requirements for children age 11 and under?

Unvaccinated children age 11 and under must bring proof of a negative result from a PCR test taken within 3 days of departing for their Tauck trip. Antigen tests are also accepted as long as they are taken within 2 days of departure for their Tauck trip. If a child age 11 or under is vaccinated, but not boosted (and more than 270 days have passed), they must also present a negative test prior to their Tauck trip.

All Tauck guests age 12 and over must bring a certificate, such as the CDC Covid Vaccination Record Card, indicating that you are up to date with your COVID vaccinations, including having received booster shot if more than 270 days have passed since your final required dose of your initial vaccination series.

We strongly recommend that you bring both physical and digital copies of your vaccination record. While Tauck will accept either as proof, it's possible that some destinations or venues may not. A photo of your CDC Covid Record Card on your smart phone or tablet is a good backup. Conversely, if you have only been provided with a digital record of your COVID vaccinations, we strongly recommend that you bring a printout or copy of your vaccination record in addition to your digital record.

Are Self-Test Kit results accepted for unvaccinated minors?

Unvaccinated minors, under the age of 12, must bring a laboratory-issued, negative result from a Covid PCR test taken within 3 days of departing for their Tauck trip. Laboratory-issued Antigen tests are now also accepted as long as they are taken within 2-days of departing for their Tauck journey. If guests use a self-test, the test must have a telehealth component and they must present an official document from the issuing health practitioner (e.g. the Abbott BinaxNOW self-test system). We recommend that, in addition to the original paper copy of your documentation, you also bring a photograph of your proof on a mobile device as a backup.

If I already had Covid and have recovered, do I still need to be vaccinated to travel with Tauck?

Yes, you are required to be fully vaccinated regardless of whether you have had and recovered from Covid. Additionally, if more than 270-days have passed since your final required dose of the initial vaccination series, you must show proof of having received a booster shot. Increasingly, many of the places we visit are refusing entry for those who do not carry proof of vaccination. Unfortunately, we can make no exception to this requirement. If you have had Covid within 180 days of travel, we recommend that, in addition to your proof of vaccination, you carry documentation of your positive COVID test along with a letter or document from your healthcare provider stating that you have been cleared for travel.

Are there other requirements that I need to be aware of?

Please check requirements for the destinations(s) you will be visiting, which may be different than Tauck's. Destination-specific guidelines can be found in on our Covid-19 Entry Requirementspage on tauck.com. Destination Entry Requirements are also included in your electronic Personal Travel Documents.

During Your Travels

Do I have to wear a mask and socially distance on my tour or cruise?

The need for masking and social distancing largely depends on where you are traveling. And although recommended in public spaces, wearing a mask is no longer a Tauck requirement. Our Tauck Directors and coach drivers will continue to wear masks. Please note that masks must be worn whenever required by local health guidance or our supplier partners. Likewise, social distancing is no longer required, unless local regulations deem otherwise.

Will our Tauck Director be vaccinated?

Yes. Our Tauck Directors will adhere to the same guidelines our guests follow and we anticipate our staff will be fully vaccinated.

What happens if I or another guest test positive for Covid while on a Tauck cruise or tour?

Each situation is unique and every destination has different protocols in place to deal with Covid cases. What we can confirm is that we follow the expertise and guidelines of the local health authorities where we are traveling and work closely with our incredible network of supplier partners, office staff, and global response team to take care of our guests.

Here's what you can expect if you or another guest, test positive:

  • The affected person will need to leave the tour or cruise to isolate while they are contagious to protect their fellow travelers and the Tauck staff. The tour or cruise will continue its itinerary as scheduled. On a cruise, the impacted guest will normally depart at the next port of call. On a land tour, the departure will be determined by where we can arrange accommodations. This decision will be made at the discretion of the Tauck team after considering all factors and options.
  • A spouse, or traveling companion, sharing accommodations with a Covid-positive guest will have the option of continuing their journey, but may need to observe additional precautions such as masking, social distancing and potential isolation until a Covid-negative status is confirmed with a PCR test.
  • The positive case will be reported to Tauck's Guests Relations, or a member of our operations team, who will reach out to the guest to provide assistance and review next steps.
  • Tauck's assistance is typically focused on immediate needs, including seeing a doctor (if necessary), and arranging short-term accommodations for isolation.
  • The guest is typically responsible for upfront payment of related expenses, securing longer-term isolation accommodations, coordinating follow-up Covid testing or proof-of-recovery, and arranging their flights home (if original flights were not booked by Tauck).
  • Isolation requirements vary by destination, so please check with local guidelines to ensure you are in compliance.
  • Requirements for international flights to the U.S. are subject to change, so please be sure to review the latest guidance at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website, www.cdc.gov.and with your individual airline.
  • If a guest has travel insurance (either Tauck's Guest or Cruise Protection plan, or other) additional assistance and reimbursement of expenses may be available.
  • If a guest is unable to complete a Tauck journey for medical reasons, Tauck will refund the guest for the missed portion of the tour or cruise.
  • Additional assistance may also be available through a guest's travel advisor (if applicable). However, the guest must contact the travel advisor directly as privacy concerns prohibit Tauck from disclosing a guest's medical information to third parties.
